Welcome to Paradies
It tells the story of an exciting journey through various realms of glory and how each perceives itself. Ultimately, the protagonists decide for themselves what paradise means to them. The project was a blend of live theater and pre-filmed video segments. My role involved creating a profusely bleeding head laceration, as well as a deep cut wound on the lead protagonist—the latter of which had to be repeatedly washed out during the scene.
Trance
The film *Trance* centers on an emergency paramedic who, due to personal struggles and overwork, begins making mistakes—a situation that ultimately culminates in a catastrophe. For this film, I was responsible for the SFX makeup and all blood effects. In addition to splinter wounds and head lacerations, this included creating hematomas, an allergic reaction on the neck, and the effect of coughing up blood.
Unter dem Schleier (Kurzfilm)
A serial killer operating within the sex work scene—murdering clients—poses a major challenge for Bobbi, a trans sex worker. Detective Galbraith attempts to apprehend the killer, while Bobbi sets out to find him herself, as she harbors a suspicion. For this project, I was responsible for the blood and wound effects.
Ambivalenz
The beautiful Lilly finds herself confronted by her own demon in the mirror. This demon seeks to disfigure her face in the most gruesome manner possible. My task here—in addition to creating the lacerations—involved crafting the silicone prosthetics and the peeled-back flaps of skin, as well as applying the makeup for the dark demon.
The Nymph
When a knight arrives at a magical lake following a tournament, he encounters the water spirit Ilo, and they fall in love. Ilo heals his wounds and ensures that the knight attains great wealth. Yet, with this prosperity comes the decline of Ilo’s realm. In addition to the makeup for the water spirit Ilo, I was also responsible for the war-scarred, wounded knight, as well as the onset of Ilo’s illness.
Marthas Room
When Martha discovers that her father works as a call boy for wealthy women, she spirals deeper and deeper into pain and the nightlife. Meanwhile, her father fights desperately for her, determined not to lose her. In addition to the old and fresh cuts, the realistic simulation of cutting with a razor blade was another effect I executed.
Dosenmutter
As Wilhelm clears out his mother’s old house in preparation for selling it, the unbelievable happens: his mother continues to live on inside an old coffee tin. However, she is far from pleased with the sale—or with the Italian real estate agent and his moving crew who have come to empty the place. And so, she begins to murder them one by one, stopping at nothing—not even her own family.
For this project, I was responsible for the aging and makeup effects on Hildegart’s zombie hand, as well as the various wounds featured in the murder scenes: blender beaters embedded in faces, knitting needles piercing foreheads, head lacerations, hematomas, and a murder involving cake frosting.
Rabe & Wolf
Odin has grown weary of his task—reclaiming the dead. Meanwhile, Ylva watches her tribe as they make various preparations, including those for the battle to take place the following day. Yet, when she hears the cry of ravens, she knows that tomorrow will not end well. Her suspicions are confirmed the moment she lays eyes on the battlefield.
My role here was to apply makeup to the actors—creating various post-battle wounds, as well as dirt and signs of combat.
